The Zappos before 08' was the pinnacle of online shopping. They would have everything listed, plus they would surprise you with overnight shipping, and they had a 110% price match on competitors, that was unlimited until they ran out of stock. It was ridiculously awesome.
Whoever made this has no idea what they're talking about. I work for Best Buy and we do competitor price match. And, the customer is not required to have a receipt, because we can look it up. We aren't just going to return something that we might not have even sold. And MOST of the time we won't charge a restocking fee. If someone is like "Yeah, I bought this, but I'm a moron and didn't do my research and I don't really like it" then we'll charge a restocking fee. So, I wouldn't put a lot of faith in this chart, because it's grossly inaccurate. I'm getting tired of these under-researched graphs/charts/diagrams. They're making the internet less legit.
It's been a couple years since I worked there but if things haven't changed they will only offer you store credit or an exchange if you don't have a receipt and they cannot find you in their records. If you paid with a credit card or a check or gave them your phone number they can look your receipt up.
WalMart has one of the most generous return policies of any store I've ever been to and/or worked at. Even if what you're trying to do is against their policies if you bitch they will do it. It's the only place I've ever seen take an opened CD back. They used to even have a 200% guarantee on produce and meats until shadier customers would purposefully spoil food they just bought in order to get double their money back.

Humanity is and always has been sad. What's not sad is that now there's a list.

yup, you don't need a receipt at lowe's within 90 days as long as you used a credit or debit card either.

ummm....it seems you are talking about a specific retailer - only you didn't mention which one. This is why you are being buried.
