naturalnews.com — People are sick and tired of the federal government's usurpation of power not granted to it by the Constitution. They have had enough of fear based economic terrorism and underhanded promotion of policies and procedures that bypass public scrutiny and the will of the people.

Good luck, guys. Just don't come crying back when you realize that your taxes will go up 200% when you find out that you have to fund a standing army and other national security measures that go along with being an independent country. Of course, a large population in that former state would also leave; leaving you with an even larger burden. With thousands of empty houses, factories and loss of tax revenue; it wouldn't be long before your country would become a third world cesspool and a haven for terrorists and organized crime. The grass is always greener on the other side.

The United States is rapidly becoming a "third-world cesspool" -- if we are not there already. Our "official" federal debt as of FY 2008 (using the cash accrual method preferred by government but illegal for corporations), is over 100% of GDP. The last figures I saw put it at 120%. 40% is considered dangerous. 60% is considered too financially unstable to belong to the EU. 120% is beyond banana republic level. You should also note that these numbers do not include most of GWB's bailout and none of Obama's bailouts & "stimulus" because they took place after the end of FY 2008.Using Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (which corporations are required to use by federal law), the federal debt at the end of FY 2008 was $65.5 trillion -- more than the GDP of the planet.I'm afraid that your tales of economic woe if states secede aren't as frightening as you might like. After all, the United States' economic future is bleak, to say the least.

You know, this was all done already back in the early 1990s. A bunch of states affirmed state sovereignty and guess what? The only thing that changed was the fed grew bigger and usurped even more power.
