Why is it nobody seems to get that the more you consume, the more the producer will find to make. Meat demand goes up, they'll find a way to churn out more cows. This "I'll just eat more meat--that'll cut down the population" rhetoric is so retarded. Blah. Sucks being so disconnected from what we eat and where our stuff comes from. Vegan here anyways. Vegetarianism still promotes the need for cows through milk and dairy crap.
Without the use of cows as food, there would be no need for the cows and they would be doomed to death because they can no longer fend for themselves. Why do you hate cows so much that you would see them die by starvation? Vegans are not nice people. I say lets support our bovine friends. Feed a cow soybeans today.
JDen, if you are so sure of your side of the debate (as danbailey appears to be) then you can follow his example and provide clues that others can search on in support of your point of view.
