boston.com — President Bush's frequent use of signing statements to assert that he has the power to disobey newly enacted laws is ``an integral part" of his ``comprehensive strategy to strengthen and expand executive power" at the expense of the legislative branch, according to a report by the non partisan Congressional Research Service.

Seeing how Tony Blair is on his way out, seeking Political Asylum (Especially now that Habeas Corpus is dead and buried) seems like a better and better idea.

Good - so we can go back to dealing with more of the issues and less of the politicians. And Bush isn't the only NeoCon. Cheney and Rums would have invaded Iraq if they were in office. I'm sure I will hate them at least as much as Bush. At least they wouldn't stand in front of a telepromptor on international TV and bumble like a dislexic fourth grader (no offense to actual dislexics or fourth graders).

Charlie Savage is a liberal hack. Look at all his past "news reporting." It is frought with bias and negativity toward the Bush administration. Here is a "reporter" (and I use the word mockingly) who has never reported one positive or neutral thing about Bush. Rather, he uses his "reporter" (more mocking) position to push his liberal agenda. "The Liberals are the flying saucers of politics. No one can make head nor tail of them and they never are seen twice in the same place."John G. Diefenbaker

@night141you are right, this country does need to get over it's partisan bulls**t. however, it was BUSH who said he was going to do this when he was elected, yet it's been his party that has been the most divisive.I know it shouldn't delve into a "he started it" argument, but it's not like anyone has tried. the people in power have more power when partisan politics are played.

"they will roll back all this bull s**t Bush started."doubt it. How quicky the abuses of Janet Reno are forgotten. Hell, she'd have used domestic surveillance to put every gun owner and religious freak in gitmo.

I'm certain he try to abolish that 2 term limit citing both the continuing war on terror, 9-11, and that God wants him to be president some more.... Its a good thing the diebold voting machines are tamper proof....oh wait... is that why the feds are pushing so hard for these electronic machines then sue to keep out amendments requiring paper printouts for a paper trail. He wasn't elected the 1st time, he was insituted by the court after loosing the popular vote. What the hell was the country thinking the 2nd time. I swear I'm moving to Amsterdam if he weasels his way in a 3rd time.

Well, when you have a party that can't win at the polls you have to do something to get rid of your opponents.

Does this "conditioning" involve KY Jelly?

Considering Jeff Gannon had a disturbingly Monica-like access to the White House, I'd say probably yes.
