short-media.com— Article describing how to repair Windows XP when your PC is inaccessible from the standard boot procedures, and you have to use the recovery console as your last resort!

This was noted in the forum from the link site - the author indicates that the recovery console does not allow combining of commands as you noted, therefore, 3 seperate commands.
And the fanboys war rages on...Please keep to keep the troll mode off at all times. 1 - We don't want to hear your opinion about Windows (since it will be biased)2 - We don't want to hear that your OS is better, safer, girlier or whatever3 - You have as much right to post a new "Linux Istallation OMG!" article every 5 seconds on digg as much as we do.Please input in your minds that no OS is perfect and holy. Please. I beg you all.
generally if your getting this error: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEMYou can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setupusing the original Setup CD-ROM.Select 'R' at the first screen to start repair. it means your registry is corrupt, first step i always do on customers computers is run a chkdsk /p to find out if they're hard drive is pooched. if you get errors run a chkdsk /r but if you get a message that says "you have unrecoverable errors on your drive" you need a new hard drive. now if chkdsk /r runs and completes restart the computer if it boots up A1 if you still get the same message follow this article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307545if that doesn't work. format.
God, will you Linux and Mac people stfu? I use all three OS's depending on where I am and what I'm doing. I have a Windows and an Ubuntu box at home, I use Macs at college for graphic design (can't afford one for home. and don't tell me about the Minis, they just aren't powerful enough for me) I also work in IT for a public school system that runs exclusively on Windows. When one of the 10,000+ systems in one of my schools gets hosed, how likely is it that I can get away with "Installing Linux" as a solution? Or getting my bosses to reconsider and buying a s**tload of Macs? It's not bloody likely at all, in fact... hell will freeze over before any of my superiors would even CONSIDER such a thing. The info in this digg submission is solid, and can save one a lot of time. I'd rather do this than reloading an image over our network or reinstalling from scratch.
I know a far better way to repair Windows XP in two easy steps :1.Drag2.Drop (in the Recycle Bin, that is) and that's all folks !--------Bedroom furniture
