engadget.com — Post-September 11 air travel security concerns have spurred Boeing to develop and test a tamper-proof, remote-controlled autopilot system. The idea goes like this: If anyone attempts to force their way into the c**kpit, autopilot can be activated manually or by pressure sensors that are installed in the c**kpit door.

Has the human race even made ANYTHING tamper-proof yet? Maybe we should work our way up to airplanes.

This sort of reminds me of the Lone Gunmen episode where a remote controlled 747 is almost flown into the WTC.

'Never heard of this, source? I can't see autopilot controlling the nosewheel and taxi thrust... but maybe I'm missing something."<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autopilot">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autopilot</a>Look under Cat IIIC class autoplilot systems.

THIS IS UTTERLY POINTLESS, 9/11 HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE AN INSIDE JOBHTTP://WWW.911TRUTH.ORG

Sounds like a bad idea... if a hacker simply could get into the software and reprogram it so it thinks the white house is where the airport landing strip is, might be dangerous.

One thing about the 9/11 truth movement I thought might have been a bit farfetched was how the planes were hijacked by remote control and flown into the twin towers.. However this to me if clear cut admission of technology that has been in airlines as far back as 1999. This is a staged admission of technology that is proof that 9/11 was an inside job and those planes were indeed hijacked by remote control.. I think those 50,000 per plane c**kpit doors are more than adequate.. This is going to fail miserably and make 911 look like a blackcat firecracker compared to the real damage that will be done from more false flag terror events.. Our country has been hijacked by GOV terrorists that will not stop till they abolish freedom in all forms..

In my opinion, it's just going to be too costly. A better, more efficient alternative, would be to build a trap door in front of the c**kpit entrance. If terrorists try and rush the c**kpit, drop their sorry asses out of the plane :-)

I for one think if that conspirocrapist is rightwe would have had more then enough lawsuits and court problemsthe major media would have had a heydayand digg would have joined the attacks on the perpetrators because of the autopilot made attack
