haha i hope u were kidding mcbesq...but yeah...i agree with all the flamers sucking and all...but i have a question...can i get achievements in backwards compatible games
kramer3d.... I'm addicted to madden 06 because of the graphics. You can get a decent football game anywhere, but none that looks as amazing as madden 06 on the xbox 360
It sucks that some games have so few and that they are near to impossible. Ok so maybe its because I am not good enough or that I don't waste too much time. But I have to admit that they are cool.
This is going to be exploited just like it was in BF2 and MMORPGs before they got repeatedly patched. In some cases, they're still not fixed. Patching consoles is going to be more difficult, isn't it?
I would suggest the author of this article write another article after they've had their 360 another two weeks.Yeah, achievements are somewhat addictive for a short period. But soon you realize that the only way to get ahead is to own as many games as possible, which most of us just can't do. Even if you own them, can you play them?Once you can't have the best score, the achievements fail to be anything special. They're just another unlock. In fact, once everyone has 5,000 achievement points, you aren't going to bust your ass to get that next 20 anymore. In the end, achievement points are really just a measure of how much money you've given MS.
"unless they have something else: say instead of points, have it actually RECORD your high scores for all to see" - doesnt the live functionality already do this for most games? Typically you can compare your scores against your friends list and also against all xbox live players - although there a few games that wont show this.. i think all four of my games doand to clear myself up, im not talking gamescore, im talking about actual in game scores like your high score in kameo, best track times/most kudos on tracks in PGR3 and so on.
I'm addicted to Achievements. I just wish that EA and Take-Two didn't give out massive amounts of Gamer Points for simple things like scoring a touchdown or beating a single game. When some almost impossible achievements only garner 20GPs... things like Madden '06's Score a Touchdown scores like 100.
