pcworld.com — Best Buy seems to have a good deal going with Apple, as it was the first retailer outside of Apple's own stores to carry iPhones, and now will be the first again, by selling "refreshed" or, more accurately, refurbished 3G iPhones.

Refurbished Apple products are actually not crap. My friends and I have been buying refurbished Macs with no ill effects. See the Apple Refurbished quote in my first earlier post.

Do they check your upgrade eligibility at the counter? If I'm not eligible could I still buy a refurb for the regular rate, take it home and add it to my plan?No way in hell I'm paying $500 for a phone everyone else gets for $300.

I have had some of the worst customer service experiences ever with Circuit City and I am sooo glad they are biting the big one.

Does this mean the phones are not under AT&T?

I question the validity of this comment. Why was it necessary to mention "no AT&T" three times?
