nwizard.com — For those not lucky enough to get Game Informer, we've got the next best thing. An anonymous fan has set up a minisite full of high-quality scans from the revealing of Revolution's sure-to-be-big-hit launch title, Red Steel, and Nwizard.com's got exclusive access. In addition, if you check the minisite, article pics are up and readable.

@macgabriel87: I wouldn't quite put it on par with the 360 or a PS3, but I definitly think it pretty close if your looking at everything on a standard-def TV (as 90% of people do). It's not quite high-def, but it's certainly acceptable in my book. I'm much more excited about that controller functionality anyway, the graphics really take a back seat to that...@davidv: Maybe I should explain that situation a little better. An anonymous fan scanned the images and created a googlepage for them. He's being really strict with controlling their distribution, and made sure I did the same when they were posted on Nwizard. I think he's afraid of Game Informer coming after him...but yeah, so, Nwizard technically isn't technically affiliated with him, he's just been kind enough to give us access. So all those "No Hotlinking" banners and stuff are something he's requiring. So, please, don't hotlink. :P@matt.rubin: that's a great thing to point out. I think a lot of people underestimate the power of mapping. It's comparable to the situation with video cards on PCs. It used to be the speed was all that mattered, now what's really important are the shaders. You could have some crazy, souped-up thousand dollar graphics card, but if you don't have HDR support, your not going to be playing Half-life at full capacity, while a measly $200 card handle it better because of that. So it's definitly important to remember that output!=$$$+power. Brain over braun I suppose...

Another thing that people fail to realize is that you don't need to jump around and swing your arms like a moron to play the Revolution. If you actually read the information that's been put out about the way the controller works, then you'd know that even slight movements will be picked up by the controller. And no, I doubt your arm will get tired. You're holding a controller here.

@CrimsonBlur:"If you don't [have an HDTV], the 360 and PS3 are still at least 2x more powerful, so even if the graphics will look similar, you will be able to do things on those systems (like more advanced AI, more characters on the screen) that the Revolution will simply not be capable of."I have to disagree with you there. First off, I think your overestimating the difference between the systems, at least in regards to first-round titles. I think it'll be a couple years before we truly see the specs make a heavy difference. This always occurs in a generation transition. In regards to stuff such as AI, if you actually research the architecture of the 360, and especially the PS3's Cell, you'll find that they were built with a focus on graphics and many developers are saying it's actually hindering AI development in exchange for graphics capabilites. The Cell's counter to this is the sheer speed capable by reserving an entire core to just AI. However, that level of programming is just not done these days, and it's going to be a LONG time before you see those 8 cores in the PS3 actaully get some proper use.So, looking at it this way, it would hold that each system should come into it's own at different times in the cycle. The Revolution will be the best out of the gate, with graphics comparable to the others on standard-def TVs, and within a year developers should start pumping out some TRULY revolutionary games. The 360 will follow soon thereafter, as it finally gets...well...some games. The PS3 will really be the latecomer to the race, starting out with graphics not far beyond the 360 and w/ a price tag too high for most. A few years down the road however, when Blu-ray and the Cell are a bit more familiar to developers and costs drop, you'll finally see the system do some mindblowing things.

Okay, NOW it's been taken down (the article scans anyway). I jumped the gun saying I would be able to upload them again, because I'm really not in any position to take on a legal battle over this (my site is adless and non-profit afterall), especially since I'd clearly lose. I guess the man wins this battle, sorry guysI'd also just like to reiterate Nwizard isn't legally in anyway affiliated with the site that posted the scans...

s**t! It was worse than I thought! The screenshots on the minisite are now gone too, with this note attached:"Despite the pics having already spread to practically every site on the net, it seems Game Informer wants to keep their pretty pictures to themselves, and they've got me in their crosshairs! Sorry guys, I've been debating on what to do, but in the end I'm the little guy and I must concede. It is sadly unfortunate, but hopefully Nintendo or Ubisoft will soon give us some Red Steel stuff to chew on outside the locked down mag content. My apologies to everyone."Sorry everyone, but it's out of my hands for now... (although that DOESN'T mean this is the end of it)
