livescience.com — If this winter's record-breaking snowfalls and bitter cold remind you of your childhood, perhaps you grew up when disco was alive and well. For those who don't recall those years, this winter may seem unprecedented. It's not.

Maybe you live in the southern hemisphere?

It means extreme, oscillating, short-term variations in weather with an overall warming long-term trend in climate. Picture a snake, slithering from bottom left to upper right.

Fortunately my opinion of the data was never based on Kiliminjaro's ice-cap, or any particular glacier, but more on studies directly showing increased radiative forcing due to CO2, water vapor and CFCs in the atmosphere. The loss of the glaciers just makes me sad, and I really wonder how a shortterm decrease in albedo can make up for a long-term loss of what used to be permananent ice.

Weather is crazy. It is not that we are doing anything to make it more so. We are just being told we are for the sake of the GRANT WHORES bilking billions from taxpayers pockets. The AGW crowd likes to say follow the money. If I wanted to whore out would I settle for a few thousand from EX/MO or a few million from Al Gore? decision decisions.

This site has a good overview of impacts worldwide and the causes of why many have had the cold, snowy & stormy winter weather (and other extreme weather events) that we've recently experienced across the northern hemisphere. Mainly due to the most negative Arctic oscillation for 60 years and the strongest El Nino since 1997/98.http://sites.google.com/site/whythe2009winterissoc ...

This site has a good overview of both the impacts and the causes of why many have had the cold, snowy & stormy winter weather (and other unusual and extreme weather events) that have been experienced worldwide. e.g. Canada actually had its warmest, driest winter (Dec, Jan & Feb) on record! [Source: Environment Canada.] South China is in a severe drought.Mainly due to the most negative Arctic oscillation for 60 years and the strongest El Nino since 1997/98.http://sites.google.com/site/whythe2009winterissoc ...
