boingboing.net — Via BoingBoing -"IFPI -- the international equivalent of the RIAA -- has released a piece of software that will delete your P2P software, strongly implying that P2P is itself illegal..."I'm sorry, IMHO this equates to a virus, and the creators should be appropriately punished.

If you want to support the artists, go to one of their concerts. That'll give them alot more money than buying their cd will.

Uuhh, so do you have to install it? Is it a virus? Oh right. Read the article. The IFPI page is very clear, but I guess it's fun to be alarmist.

I honestly don't know a single person use uses p2p for legit uses.

Who the f**k would WANT to install this crap? It's like getting an offer to shove a dildo up your own ass. (No offence if that's your bag.)

Very misleading title. The title did however come directly form boingboing. As much as I dislike all the **aa organizations, in this instance we should be upset with boingboing for the inacurate title. Also, we need to come up with a way to stop misinforming stories like this on digg. I know that they can be reported, and I am sure they are, but when over 800 people digg a story I think you would need quite a few reports to pull it. I think it would also be a good idea to maybe have a checkbox on each comment. That way if you would like to comment on the story you would have to take the time to read the story and all the comments and check the box. This could possibly stop the spreading of miss-information as well. I just hate comments like "omg the riaa is evil I better not get this on my computer" right under a comment like "this is not malware, you have to choose to install this yourself" and about the software... I think it is a good idea for work computers that should not have p2p apps or any other apps/files not approved by the system admin on their computer for security purposes. But you won't find it on my computer.
