technewsworld.com— Record labels make about 70 cents per download, and that's more profit than they make selling CDs, according to Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

eMusic deals (I think) with indie labels. And yea, they can offer songs for 25 CENTS each with *NO DRM* and they're still in business with just a fraction of the marketshare of iTunes. So, STFU RIAA.(And yea, eMusic is subscription, but you OWN the songs, unlike the other subscription models. I honestly think it's a nice model. Forces you to listen to new things ;o)
Most people don't realize that Artists dont get any money from online sales period. The RIAA doesnt pay artists for music sold online. The RIAA keeps every cent.
AWSOME!!!!!!!!RIAARADAR.COM and ajb2015's comment:"f it comes up "RIAA positive" pirate it and then send a check to the artist"I couldn't agree more with that. But the question I first wonder is how to pirate the music. Do you download thru P2P and take a chance of possibly supporting the RIAA if they catch you and then sue you or do you support allofmp3.com and pay a very minimal fee to support the russians who don't support the artist but at least aren't ripping you off as badly as the RIAA? I think I would go allofmp3 and then per song I D/L from an artist maybe send them $0.25 per song or otherwise support them by going to their concerts and buying memorabilia, etc.

There are times I wish I bought songs on itunes just so I could stop buying songs on itunes to boycott the RIAA and their greedy policies.

Let them raise prices, then there will just be more people on the P2P networks!

Support the artist by going to their concerts, buying their merchandise, or by giving direct donations to the artist.
