@sngx1275,Bingo. When connecting batteries in series you can only sum the voltage.eg. I have two 1.2V, 2500mAh rechargeables, I can:Run them in series - I now have a 2.4V, 2500mAh battery (for a total capacity of 2.4V *2.5Ah = 6 Watt-hours) or,Run them in parallel - I now have a 1.2V, 5000mAh battery (for a total capacity of 1.2V *5Ah = 6 Watt-hours)Edit: This wii-mote pack is effectively just two 1600mAh batteries stuck together with some charge circuitry.
Oh crap, now my stoner friends will actually be able to play with their Wii... once they find their remotes, that is.Who am I kidding, they'll never remember to recharge.
Inaccurate, my Wiimotes have been working just fine on NiMHs since day one. I'll take standard size AA NiMH's over these proprietary battery packs (which are just AA NiMH's in a fancy pack) any day. Go to Walmart or Target and pick up a Rayovac Hybrid charger and some batteries. Will cost you 20 bucks and will be far more useful than this nonsense.
jkdrum: You may want to look into the low self discharge technology avalable from Sanyo and Rayovac. Both perform pretty well (the Eneloops seem to hold off self discharge slightly longer but are 3 bucks more a pack). They marry the immense benefits of NiMH technology with a new process to limit self discharge. On personal tests with a Maha C9000 I've let some Hybrids sit for 3 months and they retained 92% of their original charge. Temperature was about 68 Degrees in storage. With this new class of NiMH cell you can now reliably use them in any item, not just every day items. There is little reason to use Alkaline cells anymore (I do keep a store of lithium's in case of a major catastrophe)
Hey, guys ,don't boring now. Here is a new charger for Wii in the market now. USB cradle for Wiimote provides 25 hours of gameplay and is charged fully in 3.5 hours. It is so sweet. You could skip the website: www.thanko.cn . This charger will be released in China and Japan.
