electronichouse.com — This dude spent $15K to build a home theater based on the command bridge of star trek. He did everything from framing the walls to installing the equipment to crafting space view ports and simulated computer screens. Check out the slideshow!

Scary, I would be really scared to meet this weirdo. Anyone who would spend that much money on something like that really has a screw loose, no matter how many people think it's "cool".

Very nice. You people can shout "nerd" all you want, but this man has an amazing amount of talent and has built something really spectacular. He didn't just copy another design, he came up with something new that fit the space, that was functional, and that was still distinctly "Starfleet". Still needs some work though; I think he can do better with the phone, mount it in a console or something. I'd very much like to know how he fabricated the door.

Honestly, I have seen better Theaters in Star Trek-bridge theme: there once was a TNG-bridge which was supercool. Anyone got a link? I'm also a big ST-fan, yet, I'd rather spend 15k on something more... Authentic looking then this, or gimme a hot tub any day :)

Huh? I've never been slashdotted... music isn't geeky enough for slashdot. But some of the music I've composed and arranged is heard around the world on radio and podcast via a friends radio show.
