doubleviking.com — Last time, we taught you that Real Men Love Robocop. This time, we?re here to teach you about The Rocketeer. Like Robocop, it is in a strange situation in time: it?s too new to be retro and nostalgic, but too old to be truly relevant. None of this stops the film from being one of the coolest, most sadly overlooked action-adventure flicks of the 90s

Good to see this guy getting dugg down for pointing out historical facts that the author of the article didn't even bother doing a cursory search of wikipedia for. Way to go, diggers!

My mom threw the movie away because my older brother kept wanking to her. I'm not lying.

Ick...if you say so. It had some good scenes but overall it was rather tedious. If both were on right now, I'd go with Robocop. Even with the silly socialist cliches that Verhoeven seems to love, it's still a good flick.

This movie came out when I was like 13.....Jennifer Connelly in the white dress made laundry day a fairly embarassing time for me.....

Ah! Found the trailer I remember liking back in '91:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PNzett8QXII guess it made the film look like it was going to be a lot darker and more thrilling than it turned out to be.

I can't remember which movie did this, but another movie used the score or at least the main theme from the rocketeer. Anyway I like the main theme.

WOW! Thanks for the links. I've tried doing searches for Cody in the past without very good results. In reading the interview with Wallace I was astounded to find out he was in Forbidden Planet. I was ever more amazed to discover that Leslie Nielsen, who played the captain is THE Leslie Nielsen of all the Naked Gun movies. I never made the connection. Thanks again.--jk
