I really like my current Razr, and this just looks like an improvement in every area. However, if Endgadget is correct with their speculation on the initial price ($500), then I'm perplexed. Why would I shell out $500 for this, when I can have an iPhone for the same price? With the iPhone at the $500-600 price point, handset makers are going to have a hard time pricing their standard handsets in that price range. $200-$250 seems more appropriate, and about the top end of what I would pay for this phone.
Still looks like s**t. The only ones who will buy it are the same tools that bought the first one. These phones don't last very long and often break for no reason. They're too wide compared to normal phones and fit awkwardly in your pockets. They suck. Don't buy Motorolas. If you want a good phone that'll last a long time, get a Nokia. I washed mine once and it still f**king worked for the most part. Ended up replacing it because the small screen couldn't handle the water it took on.
Hope its better than the current RAZR, everyone I know that has one hates it. Was thinking of getting one myself but I went w/ a Samsung I got for 20 bucks instead. Motorolla phones on the whole seem crappy, I had a v265, worst phone in the world.
I was more excited about the RAZR before everyone had and wanted one. It used to be somewhat elite... Now it's kind of cliche. I don't mean to sound stuck up; it's not that I want that latest/greatest/most expensive/rarest phone, I just want -something- that not so many people have.
They are wonderful phones and this model, the RAZR2, looks to have fixed nearly every problem with the current phone. - The Linux based OS will provide smoother function when turned on and being used. - 'Crystal Talk' technology will correct the issue of poor sound and speaker quality during a call. - Larger screen, both inside and out. Only a plus. - 2MP Camera compared to mine, which is a lot less, will benefit those who enjoy pictures. - Half a gig of internal memory, upgradeable to 2 gigs. Music, Movies, More! Not to mention all of the other features that it will retain from previous versions such as 3G speed. Its width is fine and is only abnormal to those who have handled other phones before. I have had a RAZR with no problems except for occasional dust leaking into the screen, which is fixable at a local cell phone repair shop for a small fee.
