cnn.com— The game begins with a teenage girl on a subway platform. She notices you are looking at her and asks, "Can I help you with something?"

"The idea of banning it, or telling people what they can and can't do just because on the off chance some kid might get involved with it is just ridiculous," said Gardner.Exactly
If Google doesn't have to have censored search for China, if they don't want to. Then we shouldn't expect others to censor things for us. Oh but we're America we can tell other countries what to do.
I value people who don't attention seek while smirking on their high horse. It's laughable that you believe some random person leaving some website actually matters in the grand scheme of things.
What we were after now was the old surprise visit. That was a real kick and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultraviolence. And the first thing that flashed into my gulliver was that I'd like to have her right down there on the floor with the old in-out, real savage.
You know what the difference is? In Soldier of Fortune, there are men coming at you with guns who are going to kill you. And if you don't kill them, the story explains that they're going to kill a whole bunch of people. The game puts you in a role of defender or hero.In the "rape game" you go to someone who is not aggressing against you, not able to defend themselves and not deserving of being attacked. In that game, the thrill of victory comes from sexually assaulting someone. In that game, you're rewarded for doing what never, ever needs to be done to anyone. And that's why rape isn't a game to me.
Are you implying that it's alright to cut someone's face off after they're dead just because when they were alive, they were on the other side of a conflict? I'm pretty sure that's against the Geneva Convention at the very least. And if you want to take the stance that it's "better" than rape just because the people you're doing it to were your enemies and possibly posed a threat to others, then how about gunning people down on the street in GTA? How about locking someone in a small room until they pee all over themselves and then burning their house down while they are still locked inside in The Sims? How about brutally murdering (with a giant drill, no less) a poor old woman who did nothing other than hurl a few insults at you in Bioshock 2?These are all choices we have in games, but no one is being indoctrinated to do these things in real life after playing these games. It's not reality. It's pixels.
Your point is well made, Korberos. That is precisely why I think GTA is a pile of s**t. I haven't seen the Bioshock example, but I don't like the sound of the example you've given. The Sims example *might* be different in that you're not actually the one doing the killing (as in, it's not psychologically a first person experience), but that's a weak excuse at best. No, for the record I am a very, very staunch opponent of video games in which the player performs violence upon a defenseless or undeserving recipient. That's crossing the line, in my opinion.

Lesbian class...Also by the way you can be a feminist without actually hating men... and also be a lesbian without hating men too.

@falstaff, true, but then again there is no statistic of murder victims who end up suicidal... what with being dead and all.
