twilightearth.com— Even if the lowest temperature rises occur under Global Warming, the Amazonian rainforest is going to suffer catastrophic damage.

BS to the Nth degree. The planet's temperature has been quite a bit higher in the past. How come the rainforest did not sustain irrepairable damage? The Earth would be a better place if the global warmists were given a shovel and made to plant trees for a living.
We are not talking about "trees" here, this is not a tree-plantation. You cannot "replant" the tropical forests. The changes in temperature can influence waterflows, humidity, everything, and many more of it might go. It is being cut down at an alarming rate already. Realistic estimates are that *none* will be around if we continue going on like this around 2020!Once what is left of that specific wilderness is gone, it is gone forever. That wilderness however is too valuable to loose, and certainly too valuable to rape and throw away afterwards like we still do now.
all you people who say that the environment doesnt matter or "who cares" or "nothing will happen in my lifetime" need to reassess your point of view. do some ACTUAL research before you try and counter scientific claims made by science. if you don't like science, i'd like to see you take a trip to the rainforest or better yet come up with your own experiment that PROVES current scientific findings are wrong.
At the rate at which they were being cut down in the 1980's they should been gone in 1990 and yet they are still being used as a PLACE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THAT IS THREATENED BY THE LATEST ECO-SCARE TACTIC. I remember the scam that for $50 dollars you could buy an hectare of Amazonia. There was a huge bitch about the slash and burn agriculture that the farmers were using back then too. It was found that they made way for the less shade-tollerant plants that were stifled by the huge over growth. The modern logging techniques are much the same as this. block-cutting and row cutting have replaced clearcutting so as to assure the health of the forests and provide diverse habitats for indiginous species. Today, if you want to see a forest that is a threat due to mismanagement you can look the forests in the Southern California hill country. There are fires the size of small states and all because the eco-nazis stopped logging under the premise that they would cut down all the trees. When the Santa Ana winds blow and dry out the brush the whole thing turns into a tinderbox. When I was in school they said that we would have no Amazon Jungles by the time I graduated and these were the experts who now say that global warming is a threat. And Yet nobody cares at all about the Pacific Northwestern Spotted Tree Octopus.
The earth takes its own time. When land is cleared it makes way for non-shade-tollerant plants. most of these sun seeking plants are more nutricious and attract the wildlife that produces the fertilizer and brings the seeds that will make the place grow wild again. If you go to one of my favorite camping spots in the North woods of Wisconsin there are areas where there are few if any animals. The ground is choked with leaf litter and the only plants that grow are mostly shade tollerant plants with little food value for the deer and bear. It has not been logged or burned over in decades and once boasted the some of the most incredible trophy bucks in the state. Today the buck are small. The bears that I see in there are about 200lbs. Small by any standard for a black bear. The problem with eco-nazis is that they think there is a status que that can be kept. If manis not allowed to log an area and keeps the fire damage to a minimum then nature will take drastic steps... Case in point I give you Southern California.
