When having the #1 pick entitles you to negotiate a contract BEFORE THE DRAFT, there's no excuse for not having him signed before training camp. This is why the Texans passed on Bush - they didn't they could sign him. At least Mario Williams went to camp.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that he will play sometime this season. He may miss the first 3 games or so, but there is no way you miss 17 weeks of football just because you signed your contract after the first week.

IIRC they went and picked up my man Robert Gallery 3 or 4 years ago, and subsequently he is being called a bust. It's hard to be a good offensive lineman when you have 3 lineman coaches in 1 year. He deserves better as does Russel. Good thing Moss got out of there when he did.
