politicalirony.com— Don't blame health care companies, they are doing what they are supposed to do (make a profit). The American government is to blame for letting this go on for decades without reform or regulation.

Yeah, regulation is driving prices up, that's why Ms. Maddow was able to cite those incredible health industry profits that increase almost exponentially on a yearly basis. You're delusional. And here's a "real" fact for you: there's no such thing as pure anything. In politics, that means no pure capitalism, no pure communism, no pure socialism, etc. Never has been, and never will be, so quit wishing for the impossible. There will never be a pure capitalist nation for you to test your theories on.
They have had decades to self-regulate. Now it's time to take them out of business. They essentially took themselves out of work! It's kinda like a pack of wolves devouring a herd of sheep with total abandon only to find that they ate all the sheep and will now starve to death.
I agree 100% but when the profits of the health insurance industry dictate what treatment will be given to those in need, the insurance industry becomes the health care industry. If we have Wellpoint deciding that they will not pay for Grandma Ethyl getting that new hip and she cannot afford to do it herself (because she's been paying Wellpoint $1000 a month for the past 20 years on the premise they WOULD pay for it), who had determined her lack of health care?
"PLEASE, SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME. How are you going to regulate your way to cheap, plentiful, quality healthcare."Okay. Switch to Medicare-for-All, and 97 cents of every health insurance dollar will be spent on health care.Stick with private insurance, and only about 67 cents of every health insurance dollar will be spent on health care. The rest is spent on advertising, litigation, bonuses, and PROFIT. Profit margins in the insurance industry are sky-high.That's the largest immediate saving. Then comes the saving when doctors can cut their claims-processing staff, because with a single payer like Medicare, there's only a single form to fill out, a single list of allowables and deductions to calculate. And that's just the start! But I'm out of time... :)
I'm still rolling on the floor from "without reform or regulation" being in the description. Its regulated heavily both by the states and by the feds, causing the need for a complex system of umbrella organizations with companies in each state. Medicine and equipment research is also heavily regulated with its own special branch of exclusive rights rules. Its not that there isn't regulation. It is that the laws and regulations that we have are failures.
This is the loudest eruption of irony I have heard in a while. Jaw dropping to be honest. Take a look at any Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, et. al. story on Digg and tell me what you see. Are you shocked by these ad hominem attacks as well?
Weiner is an idiot poser and Rachel Maddow is gullible as hell to get all fired up watching him. It is political theater, nothing more. She cannot even reconcile the meager profits of the insurance companies against the staggering cost of a government plan. Idiot liberal.
The people should take the blame too. You can't blame the insurance for making so much money when all the crowd does is forming tea parties and rallying against "death groups". People are stupid, companies get rich, there is nobody to blame.

I think we should turn over heath care to the .gov, so they can operate at a loss. At this point, they can print more money.

You think fire departments exist because "we care if you die in a fire"???

ah, right. So Keith said some stupid things. That must mean being equally hateful and bigoted towards Rachel is ok right?
