engadget.com — Days after we first reported that CompUSA could be shutting down for good very, very soon, the WSJ is reporting that the beleaguered big box retailer has been sold to Gordon Brothers Group for liquidation, which will occur shortly after the holidays.

Ok, after watching those hustling hip hop zombies in the Best Buy rap video above, I'm never shopping there again. Crack dealers and come up rappers straight out of Compton pushing shrink wrapped DVDs and other merchandise like it was drugs. No thank you. At least at CompUSA nobody (like the cellular phone pimps in Best Buy) came up to you and bugged you "if they could help you"... or some "greeter" acost you when you came in and left the store. Im a hardcore computer geek, I go into a computer store, I know exactly what I need and where it is, I don't need that kind of bulls**t. And neigther should the rest of you. Yeah their s**t was overpriced, but they got to pay rent for the bricks and mortar. You didn't go there to buy, unless you needed something right now, you went there to look.

*throws the deuce fingaz sign* eh, not like we really have one close by (the closest one is in Charlotte, about 6 hours away), staples, best buy, and newegg usually suit me well when it comes to computers/electronic equipment

CompUSA techs != "good PC techs". I went into CompUseless looking for a generic laptop battery (looks like a laptop cooler plate, but instead supplies about 2-4 hours of juice. Great for transcon flights, and works with any laptop, unlike just getting a battery for one . . . Techs had no idea what I was talking about. Good thing I'd printed out the page from their website.

I worked there when we got the news, it was actually a pretty good place to work (tech shop), I was sad to see them go, but that job led me to bigger and better things, so I can only say thank you to CompUSA. (about 4 months late)
