arstechnica.com— The RIAA is allegedly pushing out a video news release this holiday that warns of the dangers of piracy... and encourages ringtone and iTunes purchases. Some stations are already airing it.

I really like their things to watch out for:A compilation disc that is a consumer's dream? Gotta be pirated, RIAA would never give the consumer what they want!Good prices? Sorry, RIAA is gorging you, good prices = Piracy, YARR!Someone selling their CDs on a street corner? Gotta be a pirate, no artist would ever do that...Audio quality really gets me, since they offer ringtones as an alternative...huh?RIAA Propaganda at its' finest (worst)!
That was my favorite bullet points as well... "A fan's dream compilation" being a sign of a pirated cd. Theres obviously no way any record company or the RIAA would allow the legal release of such an absurdity.
It's not just the RIAA, every organization with an agenda of any kind releases "press Kits" or other forms of "pre-packaged" news to broadcasters! This has been going on since the 1940s! Before that, they did the same with newspapers back to the 1880s. The reason it still goes on is because, particularly on weekends and holidays, newsrooms are so horribly short-staffed, they have little choice but to use such crap to fill their airtime! The editors know full well where it comes from, and make a fully-informed decision whether or not to use it!

I don't count Bush's acts of terror as Bin Laden's. I'm 100% sure that if 9-11 had never happened, Bush would still have us in Iraq.
