boingboing.net— The RIAA brought a file-sharing lawsuit against a guy who died; they offered the departed's family a 60-day grieving period before they began to depose his children for the suit against his estate

Before purchasing any form of music (be it digital or CD), type in the band on RIAA Radar to get a clear idea of which albums - often all - are controlled by the RIAA. This way you know which purchases profit the artist, and which line the wallets of a corporation who may one day use that cash to sue you.Buy the independently produced ones and support the artists; but make a note of the RIAA controlled albums and buy them second-hand on eBay. If you enjoy them, send the band ?5 in the post ~ they'll make more money than an album sale and no blood money is involved.http://www.magnetbox.com/riaa/(It's not my site, so don't accuse me of shameless plugging)
DDOS attacks are NOT THE ANSWER. What this war needs is some legal action. The RIAA and MPAA must go down in flames. Why has there not been any class-action lawsuits filed?
A quick word to ALL the people who have read this story and have bought and continue to buy NEW CDs from RIAA associated labels:You are all guilty by association for the misery this family is going through! You are all guilty by association for the 18000+ lawsuits brought against your peers! You are all guilty of FUNDING this campaign of terror. You are ALL a bunch of no brain, thoughtless, selfish bastards who lack the intelligence to find something more worthwhile to do with your time than CONSUME s**t!There are -ZERO- exceptions. You buy RIAA Associated media, you fund terrorism.I hope you are -ALL- proud of yourselves.Oh and iPOD owners and iTunes users fall into the same category.
Hello you two! This is NOT about a band(U2) or a single artist (Weird Al)THIS is about the action of a lawyer for the RIAA. A lawyer that was once before caught in doing questionable things! As Ray Beckerman (laywer) commented on his blog:I find it interesting that a year or so after the prior incident, the RIAA continues to use Mr. Krichbaum as their local counsel. I can only infer, from that, that he is "their kind of guy".
