If music retailers actually participated in letting albums depreciate, I'd buy more music. Right now the cost of buying an album just to experiment is way too high. Back when I could pick up an unknown album for 9.99 US I had significantly less reservation trying out a new band/group/whatever. But with our remaining local retailers wanting 18.99-21.99 US for all their albums, I just don't see it being reasonable to shell out that much for an album that 99% of the time will only have 2-3 songs worth listening to.
The whole "why you shouldn't do it" thing summed up in two sentences: It's illegal. The companies and artists don't get so much money, and therfor they _suffer_.Lol! ``)
"the CyberSpacers' oath; join the Super Cyber Team; and learn cybercrime through online quizzes, comics, games and contests."Yea, thats what I want. I want to be on the Super Cyber Team... LOL, give me a break.
my favorite is p-diddy making the comment. Hmmmm. when I think of all his songs, they are worse than copying. He appropriates and ruins music.Sean (P. Diddy) Combs, Multi-Platinum Award Winning Artist, Producer, Founder and CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment: "As an artist who has dedicated his life to music and the music business, I have seen what illegal music copying has done and continues to do to new and established musicians. I understand why people download music, but for me and my fellow artists, this is our livelihood. When you make an illegal copy, you're stealing from the artist. It’s that simple. Every single day we're out here pouring our hearts and souls into making music for everyone to enjoy. What if you didn’t get paid for your job? Put yourself in our shoes!"
