news.yahoo.com — The recording industry's lawyers never stop looking to squeeze more money out of everyone, do they? The latest is that they're quite upset about XM launching a mobile device that will let subscribers (yes, the people who already pay) actually record music.

If the RIAA wins this... It's time to firebomb both their headquarters, and the headquarters of the FCC. Let these bureaucrats know that when they mess with people's personal property, and freedom, that they need to fear for their lives.

Of course XM satellite should be sued. Why should an XM satellite user get to record music to permanently keep when other people have to pay $0.99/song or a subscription fee where the music stops working when you stop paying. Analog radio "fair use" is not fair in a digital world and should not be a part of copyright law.

You said "Canuckian", that made me laugh.I can record music off of XM now, I don't need any special devices. All I have to do is take the output from the home station and plug it into my computer and hit record. Then some editing and I have a song. Its not as easy as getting it from some sort of device made to do it, but it can be done.Ha! Eventually the RIAA is going to Sue people who accidentally record some artist's music while walking down the street. Oh I would be careful with those answering machines. You better hope no one is playing music in the background when they call and your machine records it. Seriously the RIAA needs to stop sticking a corn cobs up there butts and figure out how to make money a different way. ( I know my ranting isn't exactly true or probably wont happen but its an extreme that I could see them go to eventually. I mean they are ass h**es after all.)

My iPod does not have a broadband connection. However my computer does, and rather than stream I prefer downloading. This has definately played a huge part in why I stay away from XM/Sirius. I have an mp3 player, I have an internet connection, no need for an extra bill at the end of each month. They have a lot of music/shows, but im sure I have a lot more, full albums, whenever I please, and at quality I love (FLAC for music now in days)

Awhile they are at it, they can sue everybody who owns a portable radio.

Hmm. I can do the same thing with any radio/cassette player (with FM though). RCA makes products that do this. Maybe the RIAA will start suing it's own members...
