flamesoffeenix.wordpress.com— More Halo 3 multiplayer customisable options revealed! New armour types for Elite and Spartan player models! Predator, Raptor, Cobra, Ninja and more.

I wonder if they are just doing this for the aesthetics of the game to make the soldiers more unique with color, logo, and armor type or if the armor type will play a role in the way the game behaves like lets say the ninja doesn't show up on radar, but has weak ass shields.Either way for me its a welcomed change, so long as they don't f**k with that winning formula of Halo too much... thats why Halo 2 multiplayer sucked.
Indeed, at least in most of the situations I have seen game coders will leave stuff in (especially in a beta) that they may want to use later, Having a string pointing to some interesting tags and having actual models is really a whole different matter all together. For all we know they were just some ideas tossed up at the table and left in the code.
@AoiTakuma:"goldeneye is STILL fun to play. Although the controls aren't as good now that I am used to the two joysticks, it still holds up for some good battles. Pistols only, complex, license to kill; anyone?"You can use two controllers in Goldeneye, which allows you to use two joysticks. :)Works in multiplayer too, but if limits you to less players due to the only 4 controller ports...
Goldeneye was the s**t back in the day. Playing it now, it's just s**t. Constant slowdowns, inefficient aiming, no jumping, poor graphics, etc.. etc...Yes it's an old game but it doesn't hold up well. Doom is an OLD game and it holds up VERY well, Goldeneye feels awkward and "wrong" after so many years.
Yeah, I love the idea of the whole new armor types and ideas, but my problem is i dont want to get my hopes up and it not happen ya know? but ive heard so many different stories, one armor is for snipeing, one for jumping, one for running, and one JuggerN style armor..who knows, and i have also heard that you can mix and match armor types giveing you your own custom character. I think thats a great idea right there tho. but i think if they do that you have to earn the new armor types, beating the game on certain diff and online etc. i dont want to have the new armors and some little 7 year old kid with halo 3 and some jacked up super armor and im stuck with the armor in halo 1 haha XD. i just dont want to have to be the ninja guy and fight off with 3 power house guys thats all. you know if they make those armor conditions everyone will just be the suped up super spartan that has uber shields...its a fun idea but i know it will be abused. so abused it will make a redneck wifes beatings look like beauty marks.
I guess it's pretty safe to say that you've all seen the new armour types on images online? IGN just revealed a new Halo 3 map that has three Spartan Variants and a new Elite Variant in one shot alone. One of the Spartans has a helmet that actually looks alot like Halo 1 Mjolnir. Another is no surprise as it appeared awhile ago in a picture that had three Reds and Three Blues goig at it in Valhalla with the giant explosion in the background (the one holding the Heavy Turret). These add on to the other two styles that have been widely circulated. This is gonna be great for online play to establish more personality into ones Character. It'll also make for great Machinima. I already have an idea for a movie that'll involve all the Spartan profiles... i'm laughing now at those who were all negative and told people not to get their hopes up. I was actually surprised that they introduced more than what the code diggers found. It's still in doubt ot me however if they'll actually retain the names given or if those are just code names for Beta.

Now, in addition to being tea-bagged, you will have a guy yelling "COBRA!!!" in your ear.

I honestly think those are emblems, not armor types.
