ohgizmo.com— For Star Wars' 30th anniversary, the US Postal Service is rolling out some custom mailboxes that look just like R2D2.

I don't have a 3PO costume, but I'll gladly go in there in my TK armor and start asking questions, heheh.I just hope somebody is quick enough to drop a "This isn't the droid you're looking for..."
@mscripWell, I'm not going to get into a big argument about it because it is an exceedingly complicated issue and one without a lot of parallels elsewhere. But the USPS is considered a private business by the government, even if its owners and controllers are the federal government. It is not considered a department or bureau like other parts of the government. It does not get funding from the federal budget and must take care of its profits and losses on its own.
Thanks for clearing that up. The main fact that the USPS is financially independent of the rest of the federal government, generating all its own revenues with no subsidies from American taxpayers proves the point. I didn't know that until today. It is still a confusing issue though, since the USPS is owned by the government and run by the federal postmaster general. It's an interesting business.
even with the 95% conviction rate for breaking postal laws, I'd be tempted to take a crack at a loose R2-D2 mailbox.... That's Way too cool. Maybe they'll get "lost in the mail"... with that check for rent last week!

Boston: where if it's not an American flag, it's probably a bomb.
