mediamatters.org — The Politico reported that President Obama presented Queen Elizabeth II with "a personalized iPod," and noted criticism of the gift by an "etiquette expert," but did not mention that the White House reportedly said Queen Elizabeth asked for the iPod. CBS Evening News also reported on April 1 that "officials say" the queen requested the iPod.

@ Mr. Bill The fact that I was wrong doesn't make me an "ass" and it doesn't make me a "moron", and if you read what I posted here it is clear that I am admitting that I was wrong. I think that you need to take off the partisan blinders!

She couldn't just ask for the Washington Visit video on DVD. No. I think she really just wanted Obama to buy her an iPod and put some music on it. I bet there is music on it too. In which case.... THATS PIRACY!!!!!!!!

You know, when *I* want an iPod, I go to Apple.com or Best Buy and buy one. If I was a member of the royal family I'd have one of my servants do it for me. It sure seems alot easier than calling the POTUS and asking for one.

Obama campaigned on an immediate Iraq withdrawal, saying "there is no military solution in Iraq and there never was. I will begin bringing troops home immediately." This of course changed to 6 months, then they would look at most troops in 16 months, then they would look at most troops in 23 months. As of now, we're scheduled to be out of Iraq by the end of 2011. But, if you take these troops out of Iraq and dump them into Afghanistan and Pakistan, that's not fulfilling your promise of BRINGING THEM HOME, is it? Obama campaigned denouncing NAFTA, saying it was a mistake, to gather votes in blue collar sectors. His campaign staff was caught sending emails to Canadian officials saying it was just campaign rhetoric, and of course, he has no plans of doing anything with NAFTA now.Obama campaigned swearing NO lobbyists would be in his administration. Within hours of getting elected, he began filling his positions with lobbyists. A few notable ones: William Lynn (Top lobbyist for raytheon, a security and defense co) was chosen as his Deputy Secretary of Defense- the #2 position in the DOD. George Mitchell (top lobbyist to the Sausi Royal family) was chosen as the Lead Middle Eastern Envoy. THE KING OF WALL STREET LOBBYISTS, Leon Panetta (he received close to a million in 2008 for lobbying) was chosen as the Head of the CIA, even though he has no intelligence experience. The list goes on.Obama campaigned on the closing of Gitmo, and he denounced the use of torture. I know you sheep think he did close it, but read the executive order he signed. It says he will consider closing it in a year, but it is in no way binding. Also, the use of rendition and torture is still permitted in his Executive Order- as long as it's in another country. We'll see if Gitmo really closes.Obama campaigned on complete transparency of all legislation, and said he would post all bills on the internet 5 days before voting, so all of America could read it. His multi-thousand page stimulus package was kept secret from Congress until 1 hour before voting, giving no one a chance to read it. He said it had to be immediately voted on and approved, or else America would collapse and slide into depression. When the bill was approved by congress on friday, he took a 4 day vacation before signing it. His reason? "What's the rush?"I can go on, but I'm guessing I've made my point. Obama is a cruel hoax, using his charisma and the false hope people put in him to achieve his own agenda. He's an agent of wall street, look at his entire administration! There's no one from the auto industry, nobody from silicon valley, nobody from big oil, nobody from defense, nobody from heavy industry, no labor, no women's reps, no retirees, no small business. This is the most purely wall street administration we have ever seen. Keep diggin' me down, but I challenge anyone to refute.

@aletoledoIf you read the article it said the iPod was "personalized" and had video on it from the Queen's last visit to the U.S. By personalized, I assume that it had some kind of laser-etched message on it, which anybody can do when ordering from the Apple Store site. The most amusing angle on this story is how the complainers (mostly, if not all, Republican) are whining about how crass this is when they're the self-proclaimed opponents of "elitism". If Obama had given an expensive and elaborate gift they'd be complaining about the cost or the presentation or whatever. It really doesn't matter what the gift was, it only matters how the Republicans can continue grasping at straws to undermine Obama since they don't have any real policies or plans.
