Check out Metroid Prime Hunters for a NDS FPS that looks better than Quake 1.And remember, when Quake 1 was released you couldn't play it on 1600x1000, 8xAA, trilinear filtering and fluid animations.
A DS emulator on the PSP ? How the f**k would they do the touch screen? Also, nintendos stance on homebrew is the same as every other company: Don't do it, we want money.
well of course nintendo will find a another use for the second screen why else would you be able to play games on top as well as bottom take mario kart ds for example you use the bottom screen for a map and top screen to see where you are going!
im sorry to say this project is somewhat dead, no ones heard from this guy in a long time, there is however another project that is within a month of the first release, theres no website yet, but theres a pretty lengthly forum on http://forum.gbadev.org (under ds development, then "Quake, yeah") theres also another youtube video somewhere with a textured version running with 15-20 fps. (sorry i cant get accurate links, im on a school net.)

Not too impressive; most high end palms and ppcs can already handle quake 1 and 2. The Axim can even handle Quake 3, at 25 f/s:http://www.noctemware.com/q3ce.html.
