lifehacker.com — "..I got the chance to hear about Windows Vista and other new MS creations, like the Xbox 360 and Zune music player. There were 'softies from all different parts of the enormous company presenting at different times and quite a few questions to be asked, so I'm going to paraphrase from my notes all the tidbits I gathered.."

I agree. I wish the information was not delivered from the salesmen though. This leads to bias.

I'm not saying Windows is perfect but one thing to consider is would Macs be so secure if they had a 95% market share? I know people will say yes but the fact is Windows is the target because it's the only target big enough to hit.I think Vista will help new users more because it stops you doing stupid things that you can do in XP. So if the user has less control of things they don't understand that's got to be better for them.

Zing!MS can keep on running the Magic Blogger Bus to Redmond all they want, but I think they're finding out bloggers aren't as, uh, "compliant" as typical journalists. In other words, even though you "shower them with gifts" and stuff them with good food, they still won't necessarily slather praise upon you. Bummer, that.

Not even Bush has proposed as much wiretapping and logging as you seem to think exists in your computer.

You guys really need go and read what trusted computing is all about. Can a Vista Server read your chips if Vista was previously installed on that equipment? You have not answered the question.

TRUCK! dude. memory curtaining and sealed storage will not effect loading another OS on your system. Encryption requires an interface to be encryption. if there is no software asking "hey ... what'r you?" encryption is just Byte word data. which is overwritten in Fdisk, or by turning your computer off and on in the case of RAM. Now your MAC adress is another story...*ahem. you might have to unplug and replug your NIC in a specific rhythm to get that block taken out.... say hmm. I think it woul be like.. "one, two , cha cha cha".say about 48 times every day for a week.

It's not that. I just have not seen detailed info on the new FS. It's always an argument over interface tweaks. "1:glass is better than Beryl! 2:NUHUH!"
