vanityfair.com — Before replacing David Letterman as the host of Late Night, Conan O'Brien spent two years as a writer and producer for The Simpsons. In this wide-ranging conversation, Conan talks about how he got the Simpsons job, what it was like to work on the show, and why Mr. Burns was his favorite character to write for.

The headline may be inaccurate but it seems a shame (and a bit pedantic) to digg it down on that basis alone. The article is still an interesting read. The Simpsons really was/is a great show that has stayed relevant and funny for a long time. I Dugg it.

Its funny. If Conan hadnt gone on to be famous this interview wouldnt exist. He was only around for a season and wrote two episodes. People like John Swartswelder, who wrote 50+ (and the best) episodes and has been around since day one, arent ever recognized for what they have done. It's dumb that it bothers me, I need a life. =(

In the year 2000, The Simpsons, won't have as much good episodes as they did in the past........in the year 2000........................

Although the Simpsons bashing crowd would like you to believe otherwise, the show has remained remarkably consistent during its run. It's impossible to remain stellar over 400+ episodes, but they have come as close as any show could. That being said, Futurama is a MUCH better show. It's also better than Family Guy, American Dad, Aqua Teen, South Park, or any other animated show. People almost always object when I say that, but that's only because Futurama isn't as readily accessible as the other shows I mentioned. Give it a chance, get to know the characters, and you will be as excited for its return as I am.
