karma, maybe not directly, but changing public opinion is a huge step... look at where ron paul got with digg alone... 6 million dollars in one day... and he was an untelevised libertarian... its about information and education... I dont see whats wrong with wanting to inform people.. you may see it as overload, but watching blatent lies about it everywhere is quiet annoying and I for one am extremely happy such positive news arises about it more and more...You know, its close-minded people like you who, ignorantly, believe it doesn't affect you but when people close to you go down for their justified usage.. it will.. but the amount of americans who take part in recreation use of it is a startling number, and to punish them for such and tearing away their freedom to choose is a MORALLY UNJUST LAW... especially with such harsh punishments...and dont go making a comment like "i dont surround myself with those people" because with your sorta attitude they probably wouldn't tell you... and I GUARANTEE you wouldn't be able to tell if they use, because, believe or not, responsible everyday hard-working intelligent people part-take in it too. You, (again) ignorantly, probably refuse to accept that. It's really OK though, you're beginning to become a minority.
MacheteBear: probably not but they could be. There are millions of pot smokers living successful lives, blissfully unaware of or unconcerned with the stigmas you project onto them.DoctorAwkward: the drug use of all three of those presidents is admitted to and well documented. Nice try, though.
"...all it really does is relax/stimulate you and make you feel lightheaded..."That statement is moronic. Cigarettes do NOT relax anything in your body. In truth, they have the exact opposite effect and stimulate everything into overdrive. They may aid in mental relaxation (most people smoke to relieve stress)... That is, until the smoker in question is diagnosed with a terminal disease. After that, I would imagine the relaxation effect would wear off. Personally, I am not playing down any of the effects of cannabis. It probably just seems that way as a result of decades upon decades of our Government hyping them up.
I think that the effects of alcohol are much more consistent across people than marijuana. At the risk of sounding weak, I take one bong rip, and I can't tell up from down.
Nonsense! If, for example, on a objective scale, Pot's dependence, withdrawl and tolerence were (arbitrary scale, out of 10) 0.95, compared to 1 for caffeine, yet the reenforcement and intoxication were 5, as opposed to 5.1 and 1, respectively, for nicotine, that makes a Huge difference.I mean, the scale presented to us is along the lines of saying "let's ignore the 5th most common cause of death in our country, because instead of killing 100-150 out of every thousand people, like the top 4 do, it only kills 99 out of a thousand."Not saying the conclusion is wrong, mind, but that the "data" isn't really reliable data.
I'm not saying normal pot causes mental illness by any means, I'm bringing the fact that many forms of marijuana are cut with substances that are not good for your mental health. With government regulation, these things would not be allowed in your pot.

I brought up marijuana prohibition on the site above and it appears all the parents in my child's school district are stark-raving mad. It's pretty hard when you seem to be the only person in your town who is for legalization. Please help me put them in their place.

Alcohol is one of the few substances where you can die from withdrawal.Heroin is not. Hence the 6 and 5 respectively.

Despite so many public interest group and medical specialities warning about marijuana, people still go behind it. It is too sad.<a class="user" href="http://hubpages.com/hub/Serrapeptase-pain-management" rel="nofollow">http://hubpages.com/hub/Serrapeptase-pain-manageme ...</a><a class="user" href="http://hubpages.com/hub/Passion-Rx-Yohimbe" rel="nofollow">http://hubpages.com/hub/Passion-Rx-Yohimbe</a>
