I am hating the fact that I have to agree with the Russians on this one... man I hate it I feel dirty inside.... but atleast I don't have my head up my ass like a lot of americans do thinking that this missle defence system is only for Iran or NK...Once the US can shoot down one or two missiles... then what the US is going to stop advance the technology come on people they will not...they will expand the system and everyone knows it excepted the people with the heads being in their asses...Also is the cold war realy done was it ever ever over??? I believe if Russia wanted to they could still nuck the shat out of anyone they wanted...Lets just say they wait for the US to do something stupid like Pulling out of treatys and getting unpopular....So for the people with the heads in the wrong places.... take them out... and think for yourself... Don't get me wrong Putin is a sneaky little bastard and the US is giving him his wish.... because there is nothing that pulls a country and the men in it... then another country evil....Yes evil.... the US should not have pulled out of the treaty in the first place and to me it seems they want war... War is what made the US strong... If it was not for WWi and WWII would they be a super power... ???I hope for many of the young men and women that a war with Russia never starts... because it will not be Russia and the US...alone in the fight...I also hope that if we do go to war it is to fight evil not to make evil....Power has always been the root of evil....I hope our history will not have WWIII in it...for my daughter sake and the sake of other sons and daughters...I just hope it never comes to that...

Let's say that the Russian missiles weren't aimed at Europe in all this time, they could've easily aimed them in a couple of minutes. So this is just a technicality. Putin romanticizes the past and this is obvious from hes speech at the 43rd Munich Conference. He doesn't like the influence EU and US have on ex Warsaw Pact countries so he just acts tough (classic Russian strategy) even tough he doesn't have much weight on his claims. Except for Ukraine and Belarus, Russia doesn't have much influence in Europe. Almost all European members of Warsaw Pact are now sided with US and EU and Russia's influence is limited only to Ukraine, Belarus and other ex Soviet Central Asian countries. US has bases on many ex Soviet Central Asian countries and I think Russia's influence will over time be limited to Russian soil only. In order to delay this process or even stop it he just threatens some EU countries just to show that he has some influence when actually he doesn't have any. Eastern European & Baltic countries cherish the US and EU because for the first time in their history they have the chance to develop and provide a good standard of living for their citizens. You can see that almost all Eastern European countries sent troops to Afghanistan and Iraq while many Western European countries didn't.
