Look, you're absolutely right. He's the absolute worst president the United States has ever had. I just think that it would be more appropriate to be hollering insults on President's Day. Not when he's naturalizing citizens on the 4th of July. The 4th is OUR day. It's an insult to do this in front of new citizens. And by innappropriate, I think more about the naturalized citizens than the Commander in Chief. Yes, the 4th is the day the citizens an upstart colony told the strongest monarchy in the world at the time, "No more kings!" And yes, he is a pompous king. And I think he needs to be told to his face. Honestly, I have a calendar that counts down the days till Bush is gone. Still, this wasn't the day to go after him. There are more effective ways than convincing a silver-spooned brat savant that the plebes that hate him are all unreasonable heathens.

Also I believe it's that Westboro Baptist Church that protests at the funerals for dead soldiers. I think the Code Pinkos are for the most part, always protesting in D.C., and while I agree with some of their views, they can be very annoying and a discredit to the liberal movement, but they are not the same group you are thinking of that protests at funerals. That would be the Phelps family and their Westboro Baptist minions.

maybe you should read up on what they were. The Alien and Sedition Acts were made up of 4 separate acts, 1.The Naturalization Act-repealed in 18022. The Alien Friends Act-expired in 18013. The Alien Enemies Act- authorizes the president to arrest citizens of countries in the US we are at war with, still in effect.4. The Sedition Act-expired 1801I never said this is the 'worst of times,' but I think a government policy of spying on its citizens (and everything else in the patriot act) is pretty bad...and no I have nothing to hide, its just a power our government shouldn't have.

The New Deal was closer linked to socialism, or social democracy, than it was fascist... FDR was not combining corporations with government, he was merely having the government regulate the economy to ease the massive problems created by capitalism.

Agreed, jlfb. Thomas Jefferson probably would have been a protester and would likely be horrified at the complacency so many Americans display today.

you're just upset because obama has moved to the center and knows that he can't be elected if he stays true to his socialism
