dailykos.com — Three retired generals, John Batiste, Paul Eaton, and Wesley Clark, and a veteran of Afghanistan are taking to the airwaves to dispute that claim in a new series of ads sponsored by VoteVets. The ads are intended to force Congress, and particularly GOP members who have continually rubberstamped this war, to do its job and end this war.

Disagreeing with the President and calling him a liar is not treason. Why would anyone even suggest it is? This is America. Is is out duty to question authority.

You're absolutely right, siszam. Anyone who tells you different is only trying to scare you into their beliefs.

@Egoist"And before you digg me down to avoid responding, show me direct proof that Bush *KNOWINGLY* lied to the public. That's all I ask. If you can show me that, I will pick up a torch and run with you."Hmm, I guess you don't actually read my posts. Take a look at the post with this link and you'll see I've already answered your question.<a class="user" href="http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2003/09/16/cheney_link_of_iraq_911_challenged/">http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2003/09/16/cheney_link_of_iraq_911_challenged/</a>For a year and a half the Bush Administration worked their asses off cherry picking intelligence to make a case for going into Iraq. They commonly used 9/11 and Iraq in the same sentence and they were grasping at straws when it came to WMDs in Iraq. It funny how they pushed harder and harder to invade Iraq, even as the UN Weapons Inspectors found nothing to justify this. You want a smoking gun... well "we can't wait for a smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud" -- fear mongering 101. Even someone with Bush's IQ can put the pieces together. But whatever, I don't need you to run with it. The Bush Administration has lost the House and the Senate. Bush no longer has a blank check to make Halliburton and Blackwater richer (although the damage is done). And, in 18 months the voters will make up their minds as to how truthful this government was. Too bad so much damage was done over the past 6 and a half years."We can look back and see that there was no connection"Exactly... but you don't seem to concerned with this? 3000+ Dead American Soldiers, Billions of Tax Payer dollars wasted, and a once great nation that is tearing itself apart (and I'm not talking about Iraq). And you don't think those responsible for such a massive cluster **** should be held responsible? If we don't hold the leaders accountable, history will repeat itself. Oh, and how come you didn't address extratwice's comments regarding Cheney's pension being tied to Halliburton profits? Man, that would be a serious conflict of interest now wouldn't it? BTW, an anti-anti-Bush support would be in favor of Bush...

Let's see if Cheney's record shows he cares more about people than profits:<a class="user" href="http://www.globalaging.org/pension/us/private/shrivelingpensions.htm">http://www.globalaging.org/pension/us/private/shrivelingpensions.htm</a><a class="user" href="http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/about_hal/pensions.html">http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/about_hal/pensions.html</a>Guess not...

zeroeffect:From the article you linked: "Vincent Cannistraro, a former CIA counterterrorism specialist, said that Cheney's "willingness to use speculation and conjecture as facts in public presentations is appalling. It's astounding."This is an attack saying that Cheney used speculation and conjecture to "connect the dots" and come up with a picture. Amazingly, this is the tactic that is being used to lynch the President. The extremist liberals are using "speculation and conjecture" to draw the conclusion that Bush knowingly mislead the public.

Chicofaraby:Less Federal government is not going back to the 18th Century. It is following the 10th Amendment. There is a delicate balance between the Federal and State governments that has tipped completely to the Federal government. Most politicians have the understanding that the Federal government is responsible for controlling the States. This isn't the case. The Federal government is there to control interstate commerce and intra-national affairs.

Here's another undocumented story that's worth investigating. <a class="user" href="http://digg.com/political_opinion/Developing_Did_Dean_instruct_KS_Gov_Sebelius_to_lie_about_NG_Response">http://digg.com/political_opinion/Developing_Did_Dean_instruct_KS_Gov_Sebelius_to_lie_about_NG_Response</a>

@geekee Actually, it proves what a success our democracy is. I know it is hard for you to understand, but it is what it is. Wars on lies are no good. Period. Vietnam was bad, Iraq is bad.I have friends who are soldiers. I love them as brothers. I want them home. I want them with their families. I don't want them to die for bulls**t.I spent time in the Army (8 years). Iraq is a bulls**t war. End of story. It doesn't matter what you have convinced yourself.
