reviews.cnet.com — If you want to store more than 100GB of music and video in your pocket, there are really only two compelling choices in front of you: the iPod Classic or Zune 120. Both of these hard-drive-based portable media players offer 120GB of storage at a cost of $249, but that's about where the similarities end.

I'm actually a big Apple fan... but even I have to admit that the Zune has some awesome features. Microsoft seems to listen a little harder to consumers about what they want from a player/service. Apple is more along the lines of 'this is how we do it, buy it or suck a fat one.'

What a horrible article. "Sexiness" as a major factor? Write it up like a boxing match, with rounds? Ugh.And btw, I think they both suck.

Both of em are tied to crappy software platforms, both of em are "successful" because of massive advertising (ever seen a commercial for a Sansa, Walkman, Archos or Samsung player ?), both of em have poor codec support, both of em lack drag and drop, both of em arent innovative, BOTH OF EM SUCK!

I've owned a zune 30, 80 and now a 120. I mostly use the 80 as a portable jukebox and the 120 as a PVP. Great devices. I did pick up an Iphone recently and I must say juggling 2 media platforms on multiple networked computers with sync issues and all other hickups is proving to be an exercise in aggravation. For f**k sake, I pray for the day when microsoft and apple make their devices work like portable harddrives where you can just drag and drop your s**t and go.

Not everyone wants to be tied into a mobile contract, and the iPhone and Touch are really more PDAs than they are music players.

"Apple is more along the lines of 'this is how we do it, buy it or suck a fat one."The modern Apple motto, sadly. Their OS is still well made, but the hardware quality is wildly inconsistent and subject to whatever dumb idea Jobs comes up with this month (no Firewire on Macbooks... yeah, great idea Steve-o)... on top of that, both iTunes and OS X are succumbing to the whole "flash over substance" trend that's characterized a lot of Apple stuff of late (with the exception of the extremely usable iPhone UI... which is offset by the locked App Store). I hope Windows 7 actually turns out well and gets Apple off of its lazy ass and producing a better product.
