break.com — An instructor demonstrates how to perform a knockout using a pressure point in the back of your neck. I am still a little skeptical that this is real. This reminds me of the Batman TAS episode "Day of the Samurai" where he fights the ninja on the volcano. Some of you will know what I'm talking about, others not so much.

No s**t you would go down from a punch to the liver and groin. As for the armpit and jaw/ear, been there done that.

wouldn't it be easier to just break the persons nose?doesn't require too much force....and it drops the opponent's vision, causes extreme pain, & disorients him...

The last thing you do when someone is unconscious is sit them up. They need to lie flat, or lift their legs up to bring blood to their head. If you sit them up then you make it even harder for blood to get back to the brain.Although since the compliant pansy that was 'knocked out' probably didn't lose consciousness at all, it's probably not necessary for the master to know anything about safety.

My 11 year old daughter just knocked herself out at school by accidentally hitting her funny bone on her freind's chair today which is how I found this blog. Incidentally, I am a martial artist and have attended a George Dillman seminar and he made a total believer out of me. We regularly use a point on the top of the foot we learned from him in class to make the legs buckle. I also was able to execute a pressure point knock out technique on my tough-guy husband at a seminar taught by GM George Alexander and everyone there knew there was nothing fake about it, including my husband who was very surprised that it worked. It was a simultaneous double strike to two different areas. I am pretty petite, so it was quite entertaining.

This is not a black belt student of mine, he just was not waring his belt at the time of the filming. He has been with me for a short period of time, so there is no falling for the master, or he's been hit so many times that he's week here.

This has nothing to do with blood. This was a neurological shut down. Safety is always a main key with training any martial art.

His neurological system froze up when I hit him causing his hand to lock up and pull me down with him.

When kyusho is done correctly, you only need the force of an eight year old striking. The harder you hit, the more tense the body is and the energy flow is restricted. As far as slapping the neck, there is a nerve there called the spinal accessary nerve that I'm hitting that starts to rebalance his energy. If you don't know what you're talking about, you should not comment.

This has nothing to do with blood. I do not hit him on the jugular or carotiod sinus. I hit him on the jaw with the heal of my palm and on the back of the head. And, I do not punch, both of my hands are open.

Well, having just any one hit you is kind of stupid. Having some one that is trained in this for some time is different.

Brachial stun can happen from hitting into the neck, the brachial plexus. I hit him on the jaw though, not the throat or the side of the neck.

i hate to be the one to let you all know that not only to pressure points work, but with the right application of force and proper technique, you can, indeed, knock an opponent unconscious.haven't any of you ever heard of acupuncture?
