i have an old apple ][ Plus, with two 5 1/4 inch floppy drive, no OS (no applesoft floppy, or applesoft hardware card),no mouse support (that i can find) and would these games in the .bin format work if i got an old floppy drive for my computer (XP)and just copied the files over, and inserted the disks into my apple.... would the games run??
I can't stand Firefox, too much incompatibility with MANY of the sites I use. GREAT digg by the way... I'm playing Zork I right now. Haven't played that since my Commodore64 days. :)
It's interesting to add that you _can_ do this with C64 disks, with an old 1541 drive and a program called Star Commander. http://sta.c64.org/sc.html The reason being that the 1541 has processor in it and "is so slow because it spends half the time convincing itself it's a floppy drive".
yeah, this is awesome. my family's first computer was a IIe. had the green screen though, then we upgraded. goddamn, those were the days... i'm loving these nostalgic posts on digg today, first commander keen, now this! but where the hell is think quick? oh yeah, and echoing rhino2000, ie will not blow up your computer, and i guess i dont NEED tabbed browsing just to play oregon trail again ;)
I could just play some of these on my Apple IIc (yea, it works.) However I can't play them on my iBook because it doesn't work in Safari. Oh well, cool idea site nonetheless.

Reminds me of the good old days, getting busted in the school library for playing Karateka when the Apples were for "educational use only". Nice digg!
