boingboing.net — "A few days ago police in Poland arrested a 17 year old kid who ran a mini-farm of cannabis inside his PC. The PC was normally used but modded to contain a light source, and keep humidity and temperature at proper levels."

I bet he got cought by showing it off to all his friends.

My primary concern is that the article suggested he was still using the PC for non-growing, PC stuff. He went out of his way to heat it up in there, I go out of my way to make it dry and cool and it still gets too damn hot in there when the stuff's at full load. Plus, the humidity level has got to be corrosive.

Anyone who reads high times will know that they advertise fake PC cases which are ready to grow. Looks like this kid just did it himself though. A for effort.

I'm surprised this got dugg. It's not uncommon for Pot to be grown in PCs simply because it's usually the right temperature and is easy to hide. However, growing shrooms in a PC is more common. and for all those asking how they found him. He most likely told people about it. That's how 99% of people who grow get caught. The other 1% can be attributed to freak accidents like a fire or a non-related cop visit. For instructions on how to do this, go to http://forum.grasscity.com/http://www.shroomery.org forums and ask there. I think threads already exist on how to do it.

"The lack of light is what causes the plant to flower. Of course, the size of the flowers is directly connected to the amount and intensity of the light..."This is incorrect. The SHORTER light cycle causes it to go into its flowering cycle, but what affects potency is the wavelength of light. Plants usually use light in the blue spectrum (Metal Hallide or fluorescents) to grow and then light in the red spectrum (High Pressure Sodium) during flowering. If you want big potent buds, you have to go w/ HPS. When Cannabis gets 16-24 hours of light a day, it keeps growing and producing leaves. When it gets less, let's say 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness, it starts to flower. This is how you mimic nature.

That's one way to offset your datacenter costs. At least all that heat isn't "waste" anymore ...
