I totally agree, we should legalize those drugs and many others. The war on drugs is egregious and an expensive failure that does nil to stop people from using. In addition to that nobody should tell me how to live my life. If you're worried about the children be a parent and educate them. And why you're at it, educate them about sex and guns as well.
weed is a drug. alcohol is a drug, although not colloquially... however, alcohol destroys lives, weed doesn't... it's just a culture bias that weed is 'bad'. Most alcoholics switch to weed when they stop drinking, they still want to get f**ked up, it is human nature to feel good. Weed serves a good purpose as a gateway drug out of hardcore drugs (addicts) which cause: addiction, withdrawal symptoms (depression, lethargy are some) crime (theft, shootings, again just some), health risks (OD'ing on cocaine, drinking enough to stop your heart beat are common).
@zappoYou should ask the Lithuanians, Latvians, and Estonians if the deportation and mass deaths in Siberian work camps were genocide or merely a side effect of Soviet imperialism that happened to target those ethnicities by happenstance. I'm sure that is an important distinction.
lonelyranger, You seem to be capable of doing a little jumping up and down also.why would you believe that someone who just might enjoy something you see as evil be a liberal?
Actually, small possession is legal. Under an ounce. Also, it must be purchased from licensed cafes. It is illegal to grow, import or possess an ounce or more at a time. So, how do these coffee shops get their stock? Yeah, the government just looks the other way here.
Yes, because when facts support a stance those that align themselves with those claims must be unintelligent. I think I'll smarten up and disagree with gravity.
If the government was serious about a war on drugs, you wouldn't be able to walk across our borders! Obviously everyone is making money, drug dealers, police, and the politicians.
When alcohol was prohibited there was a constitutional amendment making it so. Don't see any amendment for any other "illegal" drugs. What's illegal are the unconstitutional laws making the drugs illegal!

Where did I mention alcohol or smoking? Ban those too if it makes you feel better. I personally don't care for it for the reasons you guys mentioned.
