if you're talking to someone on IM and you want to paste a large text file, then you shouldn't copy/paste it, you should file transfer the document. if it's that big, then the other person isn't going to be able to easily manage the copy/pasted text inside the IM window anyway, so you might as well send him .txt file instead that he can manage inside his preferred text editor. :-)however... if you're sending a huge text file to multiple people, then it might be slightly useful, but even then, you might be better off emailing the doc to people.the only circumstance i can imagine that this would be useful is in an irc chat and you want to post something for anyone in the channel to see, but you don't know their email addresses.i still love you kevin! haha. learn how to use command+tab on your mac for quick app switching!
