No, I'm saying the logic that these people are only in it for the money is a joke. I would think a lot of these people across all levels of these corporations would be trying to find cures for a multitude of different reasons including that they and their families too could get sick.

FTA: "Weissman implied that the pharmaceutical companies had put profit over principle, ... "Well, no s**t. This is why the government and philanthropists have given hundreds of millions to non-profit/academic research centers. Our goal is to find cures and treatments for disease, not make a buck. If we find something, big pharma can market it and make millions because we all know the lies that they spread about "research costs." Research costs that are dwarfed by advertising costs. Charlatans, every single one of them. This is probably why im willing to do what do for so little money.

Well then, the owner of that land has a vested interest in keeping that tree growing.Again, a weak analogy, unless you're trying to make a counter point to your own argument.

I'm saying if a company comes out with a cure then they would be the only ones in the market. Completely destroying the treatment market

A pump is not a new technology. Big pharma is fishy as hell.

It put all of the iron lung manufactures out of business.I'd love to have to use an iron lung. Why did they takethat away from me?

Sorry i wont do it again. Phama = money. no more, no less.To be healthy is to exist with out pharmaceuticals most of the time.you got to get outside the box sometimes. don't you think?

Also a type 1 diabetic. 22, diagnosed at 14. Just came out of a coma last week. Insulin pump was damaged, and I caught the Flu which spiked my levels. Slipped into shock, DKA, tachycardia, then the coma. I was out for 3 days. Hospital bills are atrocious. Price of a new pump was ridiculous. A cure would be welcomed. This kinda sucks...

I agree with you. I've been a diabetic since I was 5. I'm now 21. My uncle had it at the age of 11 and passed at the age of 32. I like yourself would rather not be at risk of being amputated or going blind all because some corporate a**holes wont produce a cure. Something has to be done

It's all about elasticity. Disease is the most non-elastic of markets therefore the perfect profit maker. Guaranteed human farming. Imagine if they worked on a way of getting more people sick, profit would skyrocket, spending would go up, economy saved.

If people don't think that the government has a cure for just about every illness or cancer that exists, then you're fooling yourselves. There's no money in cures...just in treatments. Goodyear could create a tire that won't wear out for 1000 years...but what would be the point in making it...you sell 4 and you're out of business. http://www.myhuntinggames.com

You wouldn't have any problems if you would just take care of yourself.
JacktheWolfMar 13, 2011
Are you a diabetic? Do you realize how much of a pain it is to give yourself bloodtests and shots more than 5 times a day. It sucks! Its not only about taking care of yourself. Many diabetics take care of themselves and still end up having seizures in public places. Its embarrassing. Why should we have to deal with this? Wouldnt have problems if you take care of yourself...its not that easy
dcbart1990Mar 14, 2011
yeah it is that easy. much like yourself i have been diabetic since the age of 5. dont sit there and tell me about the struggles i know them i face them every single day just like you do. does it suck? yes. it could be much worse. ive been through it all man. i closed down the cafeteria at my school having a seizer. dont sit back and feel bad or sorry for yourself. take control of your blood sugars or they will control you. if you are having lows in public that you cant control talk to your doctor because you are not controlling your blood sugars.

Just goes to show, it is all about the $$$. Why would the drug companies actually want people cured ? No profit there !There are herbs and minerals which are proven to reduce diabetes symptoms. Not sure if this is true, but what IS true is that the big money is in treatments, not cures.http://www.rudehippo.com/thor-helmets.html
