portableapps.com— Here is a portable version of Open Office for use with a USB Drive. Pretty cool since it allows you to have both the file and the software to open the file with you at all times.

I think things like this are going to be the new standard of software. I love the socialist media revolution: Podcasting instead of radio, Blogging instead of newspapers, and Digg instead of magazines. This stuff is the wave of the future. I love it.
Actually, that would be Digg effect AND Slashdot effect... AT THE SAME TIME. Sheesh. My server got a bit unhappy about that. I've got a notice up with links to download the apps now and will reenable the directory, forums, etc later today.
Is anyone else having a problem where clicking the EXEs shows a splash screen and nuttin else? I don't see anything on the author's web site about it. I really wanna check this out.
joekeg - Post a note in the forums on PortableApps.com and I'll work with you on it. There is a possibility of certain characters in the path messing with OO.o.
