We have an example of that here in Fort Wayne. Nowhere else I have lived have strip clubs featured so prominently on major thoroughfares. We have as many strip clubs as we have churches. Sin all week long and repent on Sunday. We always knew that these people are obsessed with sex. Everything is sex for them and no surprise when worshiping foreign gods in the Hebrew Bible is called "whoring after foreign gods." It's all sex, all the time.

I think it's a natural tendency for people to long for that which they can't have. Sort of like how problems with drugs are worse in the US than in places like Amsterdam where drugs are legalised.
