If you're so intent on being "open to ideas" then you should also be "open to the idea" that God exists. Prove that there is not a God (which you can't) and then maybe you have something.
Your post has no substance at all. I am making a claim -- that religion is in conflict with science -- that has NOTHING to do with our ancestral past or our evolutionary/cultural history. "I hope you will think a little deeper about things in the future, there is much knowledge to be learned." -- ah, and there is the entire point of your "argument" -- you are a "God of the Gaps" moderate, who thinks that since we don't know a lot about how the universe works, then "god must've done it!" How pathetic.
Historically, catholicism has been quite irrational and corrupt. In fact, the protestant reformation was a protest of this irrationality and corruption.
Its pretty simple, if you judge be prepared to be judged. Tolerance and forgiveness are what Jesus was about, not whether we evolved or popped into existiance.
Actually I prefer the 1599 Geneva Bible, but I quoted from the KJV because it is more commonly used.Geneva, 1599:9 He that saith that hee is in that light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenes, vntill this time. 10 Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in that light, & there is none occasion of euil in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother, is in darkenesse, and walketh in darkenesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darkenesse hath blinded his eyes.
That's because you don't understand that Galileo's science was not on trial; it was because his promotion of his science was at the expense of his former friend and patron Urban VIII in a very offensive manner in the form of the character Simplicius in one of Galileo's works that he was disciplined by the Inquisition. I visited the "prison" where he was "held" in the last years of his life... it is a Roman Palace.

So Martin Luther was infallible saying that the Pope is not infallible?

Because its a poorly framed concept, and its limiting your thinking. Consider that what you think of as free will might be an illusion. Like God.

You're sticking with evolution? OK, so in other words, you're agreeing with the Pope.

Science will eventually reach a singularity when the origins of everything is empirically inexplicable.
