"(from now on refered to as the Nooga)"I wish I was from a city called the Nooga, seriously thought is that what it is called down there? If so, that is one of the coolest nicknames I've seen for a town in a long time.
In Ireland, 20 year ago we used call coke (indeed any 'soda') a mineral. As in; "Would you like a mineral?""Can I have a mineral?". Now it's just coke.
I live in California, and I've always assumed that "pop" is a term they only used in the 50's. But I guess it's more of a geographical thing. And I've also always assumed that when you say "Coke" you're reffering to the Coca-Cola brand. Heh.Now I need a soda.
I'm from Nebraska. We are are too busy in the corn feilds to say Soda or explain that we don't want "Coke" we want sprite. So we use just a simple sound 'pop' so we can get back to cow tipping. we were thinking about changing it to the shorter click sound used by african tribes. And to whoever said Pop is something from the 50's that never left. Neither has most things here.
Lemonade is not lemon juice, you sill Brit! Haha, sorry! It's lemon juice, water, and sugar. Yum. And iced tea in the south is this sickingly sweet tea WITH LOTS OF ICE. It MUST be sweetened while it's hot. Some people get mad when restaurants don't have sweet tea, even though you can just add sugar yourself!
lol, your all argueing about what to call soda...here is a new one for you. Where I'm from, we call Water Fountains "Bubblers". We are the only city I know of in the USA that calls it this. Even the suburbs around us call it a Water Fountain.
LOL, great tutorial. Also, yeah, kinda funny about how they did steal something and post it on the net. But, I don't think there will be any prision time for a $1.25 POP. Yes, POP, you heard me right. People in Detroit also call soda-pop POP so not only a "bible belt" thing...
I'm in Western PA too... people think I'm weird for calling it soda. I think it has something to do with one of those other states I used to live in, but I dunno which one...

Another Houstonian here. I'm a big fan of calling drinks by their specific name. I grew up calling it pop, though.

You bake with soda. You snort coke. You drink pop.

@ryan_merketPerhaps he's DD? Perhaps he didn't need a drink to be social that night? Perhaps he's already smashed?Could be half a dozen reasons...
