Three in four Americans know very little about the Fed, and their opinion on it is qualified by nothing other than "ZOMG BANKERS BAD." Populism and monetary policy are a bad combination.Either way, I think it will die in the Senate.
Actually, most Americans agree with transparency in government, which is the message that Obama originally ran on. That is why they would like a Federal Reserve audit in the middle of this economic crisis, so we can make sure everything is going OK. It's a little beyond "ZOMG Baankers BAD," and you being an Obama fan (I assume) should've listened to the platform he ran on.
I believe the point of the bill is to show transparency with this audit and make the information public. That is why Barney Frank agreed to attach HR 1207 to another Federal Reserve upcoming bill.

I don't always agree with Ron Paul, but the reserve is f**ked up and everyone knows it so yes it is about time.

If that were really true, one wonders why the idea of a Fed audit has so many statists' panties in a knot?
