rawstory.com — El Paso may have gotten a little more incredible than tv reporter Darren Hunt would have liked when he found himself handcuffed and detained by a police officer this week, just for attempting to report on a traffic accident.

@Nerys He had all the authority to tell them to leave. It's a direct order from an officer of the law well within a reasonable request given the situation and it is illegal to disobey. That's basic state level penal code. However, if you tried it on me, I'd be within my rights to press charges.I have no idea why you would even think that.

doesn't matter if accident was on other side of the road, you can't park in a breakdown lane, they are legally only for emergencies. That said, the cop is a f**k1ng idiot

So because something bad has been happening for a long time that makes it ok?Surely things are meant to improve and get better?

Change that headline to "Cops all over the country are having power trips, and government at every single level is condoning it whole-heartedly."

i find it insane that some people can watch this and say, "that's what happens when you mouth off to cops!" i guess some people actually desire Nazi-like law enforcement in Amerika! 8-)this is yet another reason why EVERYONE should have a small video camera on the at ALL TIMES. the video camera is perhaps We the People's best weapon against the tyrants we have allowed seats of power.as such abuses of power continue, some Americans will begin to take justice into their own hands. corrupt law enforcement officers like this one are not only putting their own lives in danger, but their fellow officers' lives in danger as well.sad, very sad.
