I don't think anyone would dispute the need to sedate a diabetic who was delerious, to prevent them from hurting themselves. No one is trying to take away the tools you need to do your job. The issue is whether an angry property-rights protestor, for instance, can be drugged and hauled away for refusing to leave his property. Or whether people in mass-roundups such as occured on the streets of NYC during the last Republican convention, can be deprived of their memories of the events surrounding their (unlawful) arrest and detention. By conflating emergency medicine and law enforcement (even as this despicable practice does) you do both a disservice.
