chron.com — A Wichita Falls police officer whose Web page on MySpace.com included images of dismembered women has been indefinitely suspended, city officials said. Jeremiah Love's page on the free-access social networking site contained images and statements that could undermine public confidence in the department, according to an internal affairs report.

I don't think it's fair that his personal pages should effect his job. What he does on his personal time and how he chooses to do it as long as it isn't hurting anyone should be left to him. If they had to go far enough to dictate what he can do i think some sort of compromise should be had a suspension is to harsh a punishment especially if he has never been reprimanded else wiseNot directly being on point however: If the officer knew he could get in trouble for this then I question the intelligence of him letting people know who he really was. I however have never nor will I use my space so I'm not sure on the requirements for making a page.

AHHHH Myspace makes the news again...well mixed emotions here. First let me say, holy crap on the carved flesh imagery!! Well it is a well known fact that if you are in the public eye, ie. police, firefighters, teachers, judges, etc. then all is exposed in a matter of time---what was he thinking>>>>People go hunting for smut on you as unfair as it is...you've got to always keep that in the back of your mind and if that doesn't please you, well go self employed.

Eh. I'm 28 and I spent an evening on myspace looking for people from my graduating class from my affluent, college town high school. I used the myspace search tools (including searching by school) and google site: searches. I only found about 15 of the 1000 graduates. No doubt there are a whole lot of people on myspace who are in their late 20s, but it's certainly not a huge percentage of the demographic like it is for 14 year old girls.

From the sounds of the article, it seems like he was probably just a horror movie buff. I know plenty of harmless and non-violent people that are just into Army of Darkness and Cradle of Fear type stuff.

I went to school with Mr. Love, and his mom keeps my children everyday. What he did was immature and of poor taste. But, let me tell you what I know. I work in law enforcement as well.. The Wichita County DA is known for not prosecuting drug offenses. If one of our guys can link a case to another county they will, in order to keep from having their case kicked out by the DA. Our DA and the defense attorney for all of the drug cases, are buddies.. Also, let me tell you a little about Mr. Love he has the highest number of drug arrest for the department, he is one of the highest decorated officers on the force, the currently has or should I say had the most drug cases of any officer pending at the DA's office. He was not only an undercover officer for the narcotics unit, but also feeling in for the drug task force. His name, nor his place of employment were anywhere on his my space. Also, if you have ever seen the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre you would recognize everything on his my space. He built his page from the movie, just like a lot of other people do. Just so hap pends that he built his off of a horror movie. I can't say that I agree with what he had on his my space but, he did not identify himself as a police officer, and he didn't use his name. I am currently trying to prove conspiracy between the DA and the attorney.. I can't of course do anything with it when I do, for it would ruin my career in law enforcement. But, I know I am right.. Also, another point is the haunted house that the same police department has each year to raise money for crime stoppers depicts the same sort of violence and gross images. You see my point. Why can they portray images from all the horror films over the year and carry the police departments name but, it is not ok for Mr. Love to build a my space web page, and not display his name or place or type of employment. This is a conspiracy to get all of those drug cases dropped.. and it worked! Now, we have truly bad people running the streets again and a police officer who has lost everything. Not to mention the loss of his safety, he was an undercover agent and now his picture has been plastered on world wide news channels, and in the papers. They destroyed this man over images from a movie that many of us enjoyed watching!

Just like the person above me..I also know Mr. Love personally. It seems a lot of people who do not know Jeremiah Love did not factor this in before they verbally crucified him. Did you know that Officer Love had a spotless record as a cop. He was chosen to be on the Narc and Gang Task Force at a young age of 25 with the WFPD ahead of many other officers who were older and had longer tenures with the dept. because he worked harder than most and kept his nose clean. Most of his immediate supervisors went to his defense immediately telling the Chief he was considered one of the best of the best. I do not personally watch horror movies or like graphic material...but just because someone does...that does not make them a bad person or a poor candidate to be a police officer. It’s the rights in our Declaration of Independence that were violated by the City of Wichita Falls. You cannot punish a person due to their race, religion or in this case their social preferences. Jeremiah Love's Myspace page never gave his name or his affiliation with the WFPD...and for the record he could have and it would still be against his civil rights to punish him in any form. Its those rights for people to be who they are and what they want and what they believe in...even if society doesn’t agree with them. That’s makes the United States of America a truly a free country. And for all you bible thumpers...here is a fact for you! Did you know that Mr. Love attends church every Sunday with his Mother? I don’t even do that...now crucify me!

Someone wanted to be nosey and retarded but he made the one mistake by using his real name and a main email but other than that seriously who cares what he does when hes off duty? come on now? my cousin is a state trooper and he has a myspace but do you see the state on his ass? no, some people need help
